WATERDALE Unveils New Logo…

President, Shane Sanfilippo says the rebranding has been a long time in the making for the youth based organisation, ‘We feel the newlogo and our new “action values” will help us further connect with the community and give them an instant recognisable image to associate with the organisation and what it stands for.”

The new logo, “action values” and new organisation colours; light blue, orange, silver and dark blue, have been over a year and a half in the making and are the product of successive WATERDALE committees. The final design was completed by graphic designer and theatre buff Christian Cavallo.

“It has been a progressive brain storming process, going back and forth with new ideas, trying to find something that will fit and encapsulate the values of WATERDALE and be bright and interesting” says Publicity Manager, Sean Walpole.
WATERDALE is a not for profit, volunteer based organisation that provides opportunities for youth to develop skills in all aspects of theatre and production in a supportive and professional environment.
WATERDALE is recognised and respected for its youth involvement programs and Is continually looking to increase its capacity to offer opportunities for young people. The organisations belief in youth involvement has stemmed from its founding in the socio-economically disadvantaged area of West Heidelberg, where the founders of the organisation sought to engage disinterested youth and give them opportunities for positive self-expression.
Based on the WATERDALE philosophy of engagement through artistic endeavour, the organisation developed  new “action values”:

  • Create an environment that promotes and advances art and culture in the community.
  • Support youth in the achievement of personal goals, realisation of artistic endeavours, and the development of transferable life skills.
  • Perform high quality, accessible theatrical projects that encourage community engagement and growth.
  • Excel  through innovative projects that enable youth to strive for high achievement and overcome obstacles in an environment that encourages positive self-expression.

WATERDALE’s performance based projects have included full-scale music theatre works, original one act and short plays, concert performances, showcase events, in school performances and specially commissioned community based performances.

‘We’re excited to continue developing fantastic opportunities for youth through theatre, with a new, bright and fresh look” says Vice President, Sarah Cuthbert.
“WATERDALE members, supporters and patrons will see the new organisation logo, colours and actions values more as we incorporate them into our social media channels, our recently launched new format newsletter, our new membership program, our philanthropic giving program “WATERDALE Future Fund” (due to launch on August 20) and an all new website which will launch in January 2012” says Online Media and Promotion Manager James Terry.
