From “Essgee’s Pirates of Penzance’ to ‘Annie’, Waterdale has produced theatre and music theatre productions since 2006 in the Banyule and Whittlesea areas. Our spirit of support and inclusiveness allows all members of the community to participate in great theatre, on and off the stage.
Each Waterdale production involves acting, singing and dancing; but behind the scenes is a hive of activity including set building, makeup and hair, stage management, orchestra and front of house support.
Create an environment that promotes art and culture within the community.
Support youth and young adults in the achievement of personal goals, realisation of artistic endeavours and the development of transferable life skills.
Perform high quality, accessible theatrical projects that encourage community engagement and personal growth.
Excel through innovative projects that enable performers to strive for high achievement and overcome obstacles in an environment that encourages positive self‐expression.
Waterdale was established after starting off as a West Heidelberg Youth Group in 2004. In 2006 SPX Waterdale Players Inc was formed. Waterdale Theatre Inc was reborn in 2017.
Our first production as SPX Waterdale Players Inc was ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’ in 2006.
We have performed in various locations, most notably our current theatre, Rivergum Theatre at Parade College in Bundoora.
Every cast and crew member is a valuable team member in a Waterdale production, bursting with energy and enthusiasm.
